- Temperament: Extremely fast, defensive, and skittish

If you are looking for an active, fast-growing predator, the Suntiger is unmatched. Unlike many terrestrial species, P. irminia is an expert hunter that will often launch itself at prey with incredible precision. They are prolific hiders, frequently constructing elaborate “dirt curtains” and silken tubes high up in their enclosure, emerging at night to display their high-contrast colors.
Silk Road Note: This species lacks urticating hairs, but they make up for it with increased speed and more potent venom than typical New World spiders. They are known for being “flighty” and are prone to bolting when the enclosure is opened. We recommend this species for keepers with experience managing fast arboreals who are ready for a serious display animal.
🏡 Care Requirements
Provide a vertically oriented enclosure with 2-3 inches of moist substrate and plenty of vertical cork bark for retreats. Keep temperatures between 75-82°F with moderate humidity (70-80%). Mist one side of the enclosure weekly to maintain hydration. Feed 1-2 appropriately sized insects once a week. Their explosive feeding response is a highlight for any keeper.
