If you are looking for an invertebrate with “Zero Chill,” the Orange Leg is the gold standard. These are active, relentless hunters that do not wait for prey to come to them—they hunt with a terrifying efficiency, using their powerful forcipules (venom claws) to subdue insects and small vertebrates with ease. Their liquid-like movement and sheer power make them a captivating, if intimidating, display animal for those who respect the raw intensity of nature.
Silk Road Note: This species possesses medically significant venom that is extremely painful and can cause severe local reactions. They are escape artists of the highest caliber and can move with “teleportation” speed in any direction. We recommend this species strictly for expert keepers who use secure, escape-proof enclosures and never attempt to handle these animals under any circumstances.
🏡 Care Requirements
Provide 4-5 inches of moist, tropical substrate mixed with leaf litter and cork bark for hiding. Keep temperatures between 75-82°F with high humidity (75-85%). Enclosures must be heavily secured with locking lids. Feed 1-2 large insects weekly. Always provide a shallow water dish and maintain high moisture levels; dehydration is the greatest risk to these tropical titans.
