If you are looking for a pet with “Zero Chill,” the Vietnamese Centipede is unmatched. These are highly active hunters that do not wait for prey to come to them—they hunt with a terrifying efficiency, using their powerful forcipules (venom claws) to subdue insects, small lizards, and even rodents. Their liquid-like movement and sheer power make them a captivating, if intimidating, display animal for those who respect the raw intensity of nature.

Silk Road Note: This species possesses medically significant venom that is extremely painful and can cause severe swelling or systemic reactions. They are escape artists of the highest caliber and can move with “lightning” speed in any direction. We recommend this species strictly for expert keepers who use secure, escape-proof enclosures and never attempt to handle these animals under any circumstances.

🏡 Care Requirements

Provide 4-5 inches of moist, tropical substrate with plenty of leaf litter and flat cork hides. Keep temperatures between 75-82°F with high humidity (75-85%). Enclosures must be taller than the centipede is long to prevent escapes. Feed 1-2 large insects weekly. Always provide a shallow water dish and ensure the enclosure is heavily secured with locking clips. Their power and speed make them a true masterpiece of evolution.
